Posljednji dan Isusov

Posljednji dan Isusov

Gerhard Lohfink

The author, German theologian Gerhard Lohfink, tries to determine what exactly happened on the day of Good Friday, that is, what the arrest, trial, torment and death of Jesus Christ looked like in the historical context of the era in which he lived.

The book is divided into two parts, the first of which is the author's original work from 1981 and is dedicated to the factual description of Jesus' Passion, and the second was added to one of the later editions and represents the author's view of the Christian interpretation of those events. In the first part of the book, the author, with a great knowledge of historical processes and historiographical methods, describes the political situation in Palestine at the time of Jesus' last days, presents the reasons for his arrest, a description of the accusations and the court process, and tries to determine the motives of his persecutors, of course without leaving the historical framework. The second part of the book presents a historical-philosophical discussion on the justification of Christian exegesis. The language of the work is very simple, and the style is adapted to readers of all levels of education, so even those who are not familiar with historiographical methods will easily understand the author's message.
