Sve zbog dugog nosa je roman nemačke glumice i spisateljice Lili Palmer. Palmer je stekla međunarodnu slavu kao filmska i pozorišna glumica, pojavljujući se u nemačkim, britanskim i američkim filmovima, a svoja iskustva iz sveta umetnosti i visokog društva često je koristila u svojim književnim delima.

Glavni likovi romana su Rut Černi, mlada maserka nezadovoljna svojim izgledom, i Lota Halštajner, supruga istaknutog izdavača koja naizgled ima sve što bi mogla poželeti. Njihov susret se dešava u klinici za plastičnu hirurgiju, gde obe odlaze na operaciju nosa. Ovaj naizgled beznačajan zahvat postaje početak promena koje će uticati na njihov privatni i društveni život.

Nakon operacije, Rut stiče samopouzdanje i počinje da se kreće u krugovima koji su joj ranije bili nedostupni. Istovremeno, otkriva da fizička promena ne rešava automatski njene emocionalne i životne probleme. Lota, s druge strane, krije bračne i lične krize iza privida uspešnog života koji novac i društveni status ne mogu da eliminišu.

Palmer kroz njihove sudbine pokazuje kako izgled može uticati na društvene odnose, ali i koliko su važni karakter, samopouzdanje i lični izbori. Roman je lagana, ali pronicljiva društvena proza koja se bavi temama identiteta, položaja žena, ljubavi i težnje ka sreći.
