Memoari koji obuhvaćaju autoričinu mladost, a prekidaju se početkom dvadesetog stoljeća, kad se udala. Ona prati polagano osobno urastanje u prostor (grad Osijek) i vrijeme, te je ponajviše zanima način na koji se jedan autentičan život ugrađuje u kontekst autentičnoga grada. Autorica slijedi kontinuitet vlastitoga života, a uvjerljivost postiže i tako što se uspinje po rodoslovnom stablu svoje obitelji mađarsko-židovskoga podrijetla. Gdjekad poseže za konkretnim tragovima vremena o kojem govori – npr. novinskim člancima, nekrolozima, obiteljskim zapisima i sl., a često opisuje osobne predmete, odjeću, posuđe,slike, frizure, pokućstvo, prikazujući taj rekvizitarij kroz subjektivnu optiku.
