Memoari koji pokrivaju autorkinu mladost, a prekidaju se početkom dvadesetog veka, kada se udala. Prati spori lični rast u prostoru (grad Osijek) i vremenu, a najviše je zanima način na koji je autentični život uklopljen u kontekst autentičnog grada. Autorka prati kontinuitet sopstvenog života, a uverljivost postiže i uzdizanjem na genealoško stablo svoje porodice mađarsko-jevrejskog porekla. Ponekad poseže za konkretnim tragovima vremena o kojem govori – na primer, novinskim člancima, čituljama, porodičnim zapisima itd., a često opisuje lične stvari, odeću, posuđe, slike, frizure, nameštaj, prikazujući ove rekvizite kroz subjektivni sočivo.
