Veseli podvizi Tila Ojlenšpigela

Veseli podvizi Tila Ojlenšpigela

Georg Paysen Petersen

Till Eulenspiegel, a peasant's son from northern Germany, is a popular hero of many folk tales and the hero of the Flemish folk epic.

He wandered in many places and performed many tricks. He uttered many mischiefs, through which love shone, many follies, which were wiser than haughty learning. And wherever he passed, laughter was heard, which was an echo of bitterness. And the story of his life finally plunges into the unknown, his trace is lost, only to emerge again, mixed and imbued with the faces and actions of other characters and heroes of folklore.
