Cirkus Columbia

Cirkus Columbia

Ivica Đikić

Circus Columbia is a story about Mostar and its inhabitants during the war and post-war 90s of the last century.

A book that combines the author's first novel, awarded with the award "Meša Selimović" (2003), and the famous director Danis Tanović made a film based on it (2010), and stories from the collection "Nothing the color of marshmallows" (2007). The author, a young journalist and writer, presents Mostar in the novel in the years during and after the war of the 1990s, and three stories are thematically linked to the novel.

Slobodan Novak

A short novel or a longer story, Izgubljeni zavičaj (1955), established Novak as one of the most important writers of Croatian existentialism. This text also introduced themes and motifs that Novak would obsessively elaborate in his later prose.
