What is man, what distinguishes him from other living beings... what are his possibilities and his very nature represent the subject of keen interest of all sciences that deal with the study of man. There are a lot of theories about these questions, to a large extent scientifically unproven... which are based on the experiences and knowledge of psychology. Given the large number of unresolved issues in this area, the authors of personality theories are forced to give their own interpretations, which are quite understandably incomplete and do not shed light on the personality problem as a whole. Today there are a large number of personality theories, a large number of different attempts to explain the basic personality problems. Of all of them, we will briefly familiarize ourselves with Freud's psychoanalytic theory, which gives primary place to the sexual motive, because the topic of this book is organically connected with the idea of the mentioned theory, and without knowing it, it would be difficult to understand the place and role of sexuality in human life.
