Politički razvitak Hrvata

Dinko Tomašić

In this book, the author follows the political development of Croats from the time of settlement and the first national rulers, to the modern era (20th century), including an essay on the position of Croats in America.

Through the work Political Development of the Hrvats (1938), Tomašić, the first modern Croatian sociologist, continues the direction outlined in the book Dstrvenni razvitak Hrvatas, interpreting the conflict between tribal and cooperative communities - urban and peasant culture, based on a critique of racial theory, in the establishment and development of the Croatian political structure.

Due to its interdisciplinarity and original approaches to Croatian political history, Political Development of Croats represents one of the most significant works of Croatian modern sociological thought and occupies a prominent place in Croatian scientific and cultural heritage.
