Gospodar prstenova je epski fantastični roman koji je napisao engleski akademik i filolog J. R. R. Tolkien. Priča je počela kao nastavak Tolkinovog ranijeg dela, Hobit, ali se razvila u mnogo veću i složeniju priču.

Smešten u Srednju zemlju, Gospodar prstenova je nastao kao nastavak Tolkinovog Hobita. Tolkin je počeo da piše Gospodara prstenova 1937. i objavljen je prvo u tri toma 1954. i 1955. godine, a zatim kao jedan tom 1968. (kako je Tolkin prvobitno nameravao). Gospodar prstenova je dobitnik mnogih književnih nagrada i jedno je od najomiljenijih književnih dela 20. veka i najprodavanija knjiga ikada napisana, prevedena je na više od 50 jezika. Gospodar prstenova se smatra prekretnicom u književnosti, utičući na muziku i popularnu kulturu, a prilagođen je za pozorište, film i radio.
