"Good day, dad" is a famous novel for children and young people by Stjepan Tomaš. The book deals with universal themes of family relationships, growing up and dealing with one's own emotions.
The story follows the boy Dražen, who from an early age is faced with the fact that his father is not present in his life. His mother avoids talking about his father, and Dražen remains confused and burdened with a sense of emptiness and sadness due to the lack of a father figure. His life is marked by numerous questions to which he has no answers.
One day, Dražen receives a letter from his father, which throws him into an emotional vortex. The letter encourages Dražen to research more about his father and the relationship between his parents. Gradually, through the story, he discovers the truth about his father's departure and the reasons why he was not present. These answers are not always simple or pleasant, but Dražen begins to understand the complexity of adult life and relationships.
While investigating his past, Dražen is faced with feelings of sadness, anger, but also the need for understanding and forgiveness. Through the story, he matures emotionally and learns how to deal with the changes in his life.
