The novel is set during the Homeland War in Croatia and follows the destinies of ordinary people faced with the horrors of war.
The main character, Ivan, explores his roots and family history. Through his travels and encounters with different people, the novel explores themes of identity, belonging, love and the past.
Sirius was a Croatian science fiction magazine. The foundation was proposed by Damir Mikuličić in 1976. In Sirius, the works of domestic authors, as well as translations of foreign SF authors, were published. It was published from 1976 to 1989.
