Smrt jednog Gurua

Smrt jednog Gurua

Rabindranath R. Maharaj

An autobiographical account of his journey from Hindu Brahmin to Christian convert. Written with Dave Hunt, this book is a powerful testimony to his conversion from Hinduism to Christianity, highlighting the power of faith and personal transformation.

Born in Trinidad into a high-caste Brahmin family, Maharaj was groomed from childhood for the role of guru, dedicated to yoga, meditation, and Hindu rituals. His father, a respected avatar, spent years in silence due to his vows, which deeply affected the Rabbi, who yearned for his father's recognition. Intensively practicing Hinduism, including mantras and transcendental experiences, Maharaj becomes a respected leader in his community. However, over time, he begins to see contradictions in Hinduism, such as the emptiness he feels despite his spiritual powers.

Doubts lead him to search for true meaning, and the crucial moment comes when he meets Christianity. Faced with inner emptiness and the impossibility of self-salvation, Maharaj experiences a spiritual awakening and accepts Christ, rejecting everything he had built up until then. The book describes in detail Hindu life, its customs, and the spiritual darkness that the author sees in Eastern practices, while his sincere struggle and conversion offer inspiration.
