"Lisey's Story" is an emotional and psychological novel that follows Lisey Landon, the widow of the famous writer Scott Landon, two years after his death. The novel combines horror, fantasy and a powerful emotional story, with deep psychological nuances.
While cleaning out her late husband's office, Lisey uncovers hidden parts of his past that she never fully understood—including a dark, supernatural world called Boo'ya Moon.
Scott had access to this strange dimension as a child, a place where he hid from domestic violence but also one that carries deadly dangers. His creative genius and mental instability are tied to this world. As Lisey gradually reconstructs his riddles through the "treasure hunt" he left her, she confronts real-world threats—including a violent stalker—and her own repressed traumas.
The novel is a meditation on love, marriage, loss, and healing, told from the perspective of a woman who only fully discovers the depth of her husband's pain—and her own strength—after her husband's death.
The book consists of two volumes.
