Stegovnici

Richard Bachman, Stephen King

After five novels, Richard Bachman “died” when it was discovered that it was actually a pseudonym for Stephen King. The novel “The Disciplinarians” appeared in parallel with King’s novel “Despair,” and all the main characters of this book were borrowed fr

"The Disciplinarians" depicts the terror that unfolds in a quiet American suburb when a supernatural force takes control of reality. Poplar Street in the small town of Wentworth is transformed into a scene of chaos when red vans and armed assailants resembling characters from children's cartoons appear.

The story centers on Seth, an eight-year-old autistic boy obsessed with TV shows and comics, who is possessed by an ancient entity named Tak. Through Seth, Tak uses his fantasies to bring them to life and begins to destroy his neighbors one by one.

As the violence escalates, the surviving neighbors try to find a way to resist - fighting not only against the physical threat, but also against the loss of their own reality. A parallel dimension and distorted space-time create an atmosphere of paranoia and hopelessness.

The novel explores the boundary between childhood fantasy and real horror, and shows how the power of imagination - in the wrong hands - can become deadly.
