The novel Fallen Angels follows the life of Frances Fitzgerald, a young Irish woman who dreams of fame and success. After becoming pregnant at the age of 17, she leaves her family and goes to London, where she makes her mark as a nightclub singer...

Frances soon becomes a movie star, but in order to pursue a career, she leaves her daughter Cara in an orphanage, hiding her existence from the public. A year after Cara's birth, Frances tragically dies in a car accident. Her husband, the wealthy Maximilian Stanhope, suspects he knows more about the circumstances of her death, but nothing can be proven.

Cara grows up in an orphanage, dealing with feelings of abandonment and childhood trauma. As an adult, she becomes a successful journalist, but her past continues to haunt her. She decides to investigate her mother's secret and discover the truth about her death. Her journey takes her from Ireland to Hollywood, where she confronts family secrets and her own identity.
