Car oceanskog perivoja

Car oceanskog perivoja

Stephen L. Carter

Stephen L. Carter's first novel is a suspenseful story about the well-off black Garland family. It is a novel about contemporary American society seen through the eyes of a member of the black middle class.

A staunch conservative, Oliver Garland was a judge on the Court of Appeals. His brilliant career was ruined when, upon his appointment to the Supreme Court, his connections with the mysterious Jack Ziegler, a former CIA agent, were revealed. The judge's death will complicate the life of his younger son, Talcott, aka Misha, a professor at the law school in the small town of Elm Harbor, because it was to him that the judge entrusted "instructions" that various parties were interested in. Although he fears for the safety of his family, Misha is determined to find out the truth about his father. The investigation reveals hidden secrets and ancient tragedies of the Garland family.
