Pra-govor 1-5

Miroslav Antić

"Pra-govor" is a deluxe edition of the works of Miroslav "Mika" Antic (1932–1986), published in 1986 (sometimes listed as 1989 in reprints). It is about five volumes with illustrations, intended for collectors and lovers of poetry.

This is a selection of early and middle collections of poems, focused on Antic's lyrics for children and young people, with themes of childhood, first love, longing, humor and existential tenderness. Each volume includes one complete collection, without additional comments, with original texts and drawings. The edition highlights Antic's free rhythm, wordplay and wisdom hidden in simplicity, making it a timeless introduction to his world of tenderness and depth.

  • Volume 1: Horoscope (original 1961, Mlado pokolenje, Belgrade): The first collection for adults, a "guide to understanding the world" - poems about transience, the lies of life and inventing one's own destiny. Antic introduces irony and wisdom here, with an emphasis on learning through mistakes and the freedom of imagination. The main poem "Horoscope" is a long, epic composition divided into fragments, like a prophet's diary.

  • Volume 2: This is how I imagine the sky (originally 1967, Mlado pokolenje, Belgrade): A poetic vision of existence, divided into "Parental Poems" (about family and sorrow) and "Children's Poems" (about innocent joy). Antić explores childhood as paradise, with themes of thirst for life, loss and immortality, through gentle, rhythmic verses and autographs.

  • Volume 3: Plavi čuperak (original 1965, Mlado pokolenje, Belgrade): "Textbook of longing" for children and young people – a collection about first love, secrets and the magic of growing up. A gentle, humorous tone with a playful rhythm, a timeless reading about heartbreak and school rituals.

  • Volume 4: Garavi sokak (original 1970, Mlado pokolenje, Belgrade): "A cheerful gypsy fair with a few tears and drops of rain" – dedicated to the young gypsy Mile Dileja, about poverty as wealth, growing up in marginality and joy in sorrow. A smoldering garland of images about painful happiness, with Roma motifs and cosmic joy.

  • Volume 5: Hodajući na ruka (original 1971, Mlado pokolenje, Belgrade): "Essay or fairy tales" – a play on words and shapes, about inventing the world and carrying the planet on one's shoulders. Antić reminds us that "he who cannot invent, cannot live", with themes of freedom, imagination and the opposite of walking through life.
