Šenoa achieved great success with these lyrical-epic works with motifs from history or folk tradition. They are characterized by ease of expression, emphasized rhythm and, often, a humorous tone. The edition is fully adapted to the needs of school reading and teaching of the Croatian language, and is equipped with a so-called methodological practicum for students, teachers and parents, which contains a detailed content-expressive analysis of the stories with appropriate questions, and is also accompanied by a dictionary of lesser-known words, photographic material, as well as a note on the life of August Šenoa.
