Kintsugi tijela

Kintsugi tijela

Senka Marić

In the novel Kintsugi Bodies, whose title slightly unlocks the very essence of the book, we follow the main plot, interspersed with flashbacks that take us back to the childhood and harsh upbringing of the heroine of this autobiographical book.

"Every time someone in Bosnia and Herzegovina writes a novel, it is a reason for a little celebration, especially when it is written by a female writer. For prose, talent alone is not enough, but also perseverance, planned work, and discipline. Senka Marić's style is poetic and minimalist, and the storytelling is achieved through the realistic process of a novel written with the body. The heroine of the novel is waging a private war against illness, but this is not a book just about illness, but rather a fight for dignity, sensuality, and eros. It is not enough to say that this is a truly combative text; its pleasure also lies in the poetic observations in which the surgeon's stroke is the dance of a brush on a painting canvas. However, it is enough to say that Kintsugi of the Body is a courageous book written from personal experience that offers us much-needed hope in the victory of life over death."
