Identitet jezika jezikom izrečen

Identitet jezika jezikom izrečen

The book contains 11 texts and an authorized discussion from a roundtable organized on the occasion of the translation of Robert D. Greenberg's book Language and Identity in the Balkans.

The Disintegration of Serbo-Croatian in Matica Hrvatska in 2006. Although it is about different approaches by different authors, it is still a coherent reading that connects the effort to interpret the understanding of the relationship between language and one of the many identities from different sides. In this sense, especially when read through texts by different authors, the book addresses one of the most prominent problems of contemporary sociolinguistics, which is the questioning of the criteria according to which today within the profession, and then in the communication of the profession to the public, in conditions of high politicization, one can and should talk about lists, regulations and names of languages, and about their status among the recognized languages of the world.
