Boa

Boa

Boa is the debut album by Zagreb band Boa from 1981 on audio cassette. It brings sophisticated art rock and new wave through atmospheric arrangements, keyboards and the recognizable urban sound of the 1980s.

Boa is the first studio album by the Zagreb band Boa, released in 1981, and this edition is available in audio cassette format. The album represents one of the most distinctive achievements of the Zagreb rock scene of the early eighties, moving away from the then dominant punk expression towards a more complex and refined sound based on art rock, new wave, progressive influences and pronounced melodiousness.

The album contains nine original songs, among which stand out Milion, Stol, Davni trag, Noćne sjene, Melodrama, Živjeti od mraka, Na nišanu, Sela gore and Pored zida. The special features of the edition are rich arrangements, emphasized keyboards, atmospheric guitars and the characteristic vocal expression of Mladen Puljiz, with the authorial contribution of Slavko Remenarić and other band members.

The album was recorded at the Swedish studio Tiva Recording Studios in late 1981, with production by Tihomir Varga, and with its elegant and modern sound, it laid the foundation for Boa's later development. The audio cassette represents an authentic example of a release from the new wave period and is a valuable collector's item for fans of domestic art rock and quality regional music production.
