Unison

Unison

Celine Dion

Unison (1990) is the debut English album by Canadian music star Celine Dion. The release features a modern soft-rock and pop sound and her first major worldwide hit, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now".

Released in April 1990 by Columbia and Epic, Unison was a key turning point in Celine Dion's career. After building a successful career in the French-speaking world in the 1980s, the album marked her official entry into the global and English-speaking music market. The album was produced by renowned music producers such as David Foster, Christopher Neil and Tom Keane, who carefully crafted a modern pop-rock and synth-pop sound that was adapted to the global radio trends of the time.

In addition to the dance title track "Unison", the album featured several highly successful singles, most notably the dramatic ballad "Where Does My Heart Beat Now". The song became her first top 5 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 and set the course for her further career. With catchy rhythmic numbers like "(If There Was) Any Other Way" and a moving rendition of "Have A Heart," Celine Dion demonstrated remarkable vocal power and range on this release. Unison went multi-platinum and is credited as the foundation of her rise to status as one of the best-selling female singers of all time.
