The main character of the story is Buck Duane, a young man who, through a combination of tragic circumstances and self-defense, becomes a fugitive from the law. Forced to live among outlaws in secluded canyons, Duane soon gets a chance for redemption and pardon on the condition that he joins the famous Texas Rangers (Lone Star Rangers). His task is to infiltrate an extremely dangerous border area ruled by a mysterious and cruel leader of an organized gang of cattle rustlers. Through a series of extremely tense situations, secret missions, horse chases and gunfights, Duane must demonstrate supreme courage and skill in order to break up the gang and bring peace to the region.
