Trenutak uzdaha

Anna Philipe, the wife of the famous actor - the late Gerard Philipe, who is the subject of A Moment of Sigh - broke into the forefront of French female writers with her first novel.

The authoritative M. Nadeau called her prose "imperishable," and one critic: "the best love novel of our time." Thus was born the French bestseller of the 1963/64 season, thanks to an author whom no one had seriously counted on before, because neither her articles on Cuba, nor the travelogue Asian Caravan from Sing-Kiang to Kashmir, nor several ethnographic films, with their average value, announced the emergence of such exceptional, pure, and poetically exciting prose as A Moment of Sigh.
