Britanske studije kulture
The British Cultural Studies book traces the dynamics of contemporary British culture, seeking to identify its new configurations and trajectories it might follow in the future - ethnic, consumer, regional politics and environmental protection.
The book contains more than thirty essays in which experts in the mentioned fields consider almost all aspects of culture and identity in contemporary Britain, analyzing changes in that culture and identity in the context of globalization. The opening section of the book is devoted to various conceptions of "Britishness" and identity, including English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, British-Asian and Black identity. The second part then analyzes the relationship between tradition and heritage in contemporary culture, while the final part provides an overview of different lifestyles, subcultures and cultural policies that greatly reshape the contemporary meaning of the adjective "British".
