Hrvatski obiteljski leksikon I-XI
Croatian Family Lexicon I-XI (2005), editor-in-chief Tomislav Ladan. One of the most comprehensive Croatian encyclopedic editions intended for families, with over 45,000 entries from all areas of knowledge, adapted to a wider audience.
This is one of the most important Croatian lexicons at the beginning of the 21st century. In eleven volumes (totaling about 3750–3850 pages), **it brings 45,129 entries** from all areas of human knowledge – from history, geography, literature, art, natural sciences, technology, medicine, sports, religion, and even everyday life.
**Tomislav Ladan**, a famous lexicographer, edited this edition as a kind of upgrade and popularization of earlier lexicons (the Croatian General Lexicon). His goal was to create an encyclopedic work that would be useful in every Croatian family – clear, reliable, modern, and accessible to a wide range of readers, not just experts.
The *Lexicon* is distinguished by its clear and precise style, rich illustrations (photographs, maps, tables), and a balanced approach to Croatian and world topics. Special attention is paid to Croatian history, culture, language and contemporary topics, but it also includes all important world concepts, people and events.
