The book of poetry by the contemporary Croatian writer includes a selection from his poetry collections as well as new poems (not previously included in any collection) from the period from 1983 to 1999.
Vojislav Đurić's anthology of folk heroic poems, published in several editions since 1947, is a representative selection of Serbian epic poems, key to understanding folk literature and the spirit of the Serbian people.
The collection represents an anthology of world spiritual poetry, translated by Jesuit Milan Pavelić, and includes translations of poems from various languages, such as Italian, Spanish, French, German, Flemish, Polish, Czech and Russian.
The work moves in genre between prose poetry, existential meditation, and literary criticism, with a pronounced influence of the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche – especially his ideas of the Dionysian principle.
The work is personal, intimate and reflective, and focuses on memories of childhood, family and growing up in the Danube region, marked by cultural diversity, historical changes and personal tragedies.
