Divni novi svijet

Divni novi svijet

Aldous Huxley

Brave New World is a 1932 science fiction novel by Aldous Huxley. Aldous Huxley's best-known work, set in 26th-century London, this dystopia envisions the shaping of society through eugenics and unconscious learning.

Far in the future, the World Overseers have created an ideal totalitarian society. Thanks to the clever application of genetic engineering, brainwashing, recreational sex, and a new drug that offers instant bliss with no side effects, all residents are happy consumers. Bernard Marx seems to be the only one who feels a strange longing to escape programmed happiness and pleasure. Perhaps the cure for his troubles is a visit to one of the few remaining savage reserves, where one can live the old, wonderful, imperfect way of life. Aldous Huxley's ingeniously imagined future casts a blinding light on the present and is rightly considered a masterpiece.
