Životopis Giotta - slikara,kipara i graditelja firentinskog

Giorgio Vasari

A short and concise biography of one of the greatest Italian painters and sculptors, Giotto di Bondone.

Vasari, known for his biographies of Italian artists, praised Giotto for reviving the art of nature painting and portraiture, which had been neglected for more than two hundred years. In his book "Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors and Architects", first published in 1550, Vasari tells the story of how Giotto, a shepherd boy, was discovered by the artist Cimabue and how he later became a famous painter.
