Portnoy's Disease is a 1969 novel by Philip Roth. Alexander Portnoy confesses to his psychiatrist, talks about his childhood and youth, about his love experiences and sorrows.

He talks openly and wittily about masturbation and sexual excesses. The novel was translated into Croatian by Zlatko Crnković and in 1971 he received the annual award of the Society of Croatian Literary Translators.
