Novela od Stanca / Skup / Dundo Maroje

Novela od Stanca / Skup / Dundo Maroje

Marin Držić

Dundo Maroje is the most frequently performed piece by Držić. The backbone of the plot is the search of the father, a merchant from Dubrovnik, for his prodigal son Mar, who, instead of making deals, squanders his father's wealth in Rome.

Skup, a kind of Držić's adaptation of Plaut's Cup, is a comedy about miserliness.

In the tradition of farce, the Novela by Stanac is created, in which unrestrained young men from the city play a joke on the old man Stanac.
