Krila
The fairy world is just as mysterious, dangerous and interesting as the world of immortal vampires brought to life by Stephenie Meyer. Especially when it's so close to human.
Aprilynne Pike's novel for young people, Wings, clearly shows this. Wings is the debut novel for young adults by Aprilynne Pike, which opens an urban fantasy in a series of 4 books about fifteen-year-old Laurel. Laurel lives with her hippie family on an old homestead in rural California. After moving, she starts attending public school for the first time, where she meets David, a handsome and sweet boy who understands her. One day, an unusual flower that looks like fairy wings grows on Laurel's back. That's when the search for her true identity begins: that of a fairy. Laurel discovers that she is a fairy and has been sent among human beings on a mission. Events begin to unfold at an incredible speed. Laurel meets Tamani, the first being who can tell her who she truly is and what her mission is. It is her duty to protect her parents and their inheritance because the old estate hides a big secret: a passage to the fairy world.
