Das umfangreiche Buch von fast vierhundert Seiten ist in fünf thematische Einheiten unterteilt mit den Titeln Rätsel und ihre Kinder, Ochsen, Desperados, Sucher, Helden ihrer Geschichten, Verdrehte Konsumenten der Realität und Trupp für die Liebe.

Im Vorwort betont die Autorin, dass sie "einen bestimmten Genreschlüssel verwendet" hat, den sie in der Einleitung zu jedem Kapitel erläutert. Diese Einleitung ist in der Tat ein Schlüsselfaktor für die weitere Lektüre, da sie den Leser zu theoretischen und historischen Analysen der zeitgenössischen kroatischen Literatur und zu ausgewählten Werken einzelner Autoren führt, die Detoni Dujmić für diesen Prozess ausgewählt hat. Sie hat die Kapitel gekonnt und klug mit einem Thema verbunden, und die Struktur der Arbeit und die Art und Weise, wie sie geschrieben wurden, stehen im Mittelpunkt ihrer Aufmerksamkeit.
