The book considers the need, goals, and methods of basic education for adults, primarily those who, for various reasons, did not complete primary school in the regular school system.
This work is one of the most important works in the field of andragogy in the former Yugoslavia. The book also reflects the then policy of literacy and raising the level of general education in the function of social progress.
