Iza vrata
The novel Iza vrata by Zvonimir Mikulić-Đona is the first novel by the Ljubuški writer, born in Mostar in 1961. The plot follows complex human destinies intertwined through emotional and life stories, set in the Herzegovinian context.
The main characters, everyday people with whom the reader can easily identify, face internal and external conflicts, searching for meaning in a world full of challenges. Mikulić's style is characterized by the use of local language, witty dialogues and symbolism, which emphasizes the authenticity of the characters and the setting. The novel explores themes of love, loss and the search for identity, with a subtle critique of social norms.
