Mala knjiga

Mala knjiga

Selden Edwards

The book contains the unusual story of Frank Standish, Wheeler, Burden III, heir to famous Boston bankers, philosopher, history student, son of a legend, rock idol, writer, lover of women, loner, half-Jew, and Harvard baseball legend.

The year is 1988. He is forty-seven years old and lives in San Francisco. But suddenly, through a time warp, he finds himself in Vienna at the end of the nineteenth century, exactly ninety-one years before his last memory and half a century before his own birth. The capital of the then Austro-Hungarian Empire was experiencing its most glorious days, but without knowing it, it was one step away from the apocalypse that would follow in the century that lay ahead. In the city and time that he had heard about for years from his beloved Professor Haze, Wheeler would find himself better than he could have ever expected. He would befriend a group of the most famous minds and artists of the time, seek help from the famous Sigmund Freud himself, and even meet Mark Twain, all the while being vigilantly careful not to change the history of the world that was being created before his eyes with his words or actions. But after managing to resent his own cruel grandfather and meeting a young lady who will change his life, he himself will realize that the force of fate is incomparably stronger than any of our desires. And sometimes unspeakably dangerous.
