Delije na Bihaću

Delije na Bihaću

Branko Ćopić

Delije na Bihać is a humorous story by Branko Ćopić in which the author describes the adventures and misadventures of young village men – "delija" – who go to Bihać, then a larger and more important urban center.

The main characters are a group of village boys proud of their strength, courage and defiance, but at the same time naive and funny when faced with city customs and new situations. Their journey to Bihać is full of comical misunderstandings, conflicts with authorities, attempts to "prove themselves", but also unexpected troubles. At the heart of the story is the conflict between village simplicity and city civilization, which Ćopić portrays with warm humor and mild irony. The boys often get into awkward or funny situations, but they retain their pride, good nature and sense of community.
