Najveći hrvatski znanstvenici

Najveći hrvatski znanstvenici

Hrvoje Kekez

This book presents forty of the most distinguished Croatian scientists from the late Middle Ages to the present day, i.e. from Benedikt Kotruljević to Ivan Supek.

The greats of Croatian science include Croats born in Croatia or abroad, as well as scientists who were not Croatians but were born in Croatia. In addition, there are many scientists who worked in Croatia or whose careers (mostly or at least partly) were connected to the area of present-day Croatia. Of course, among the covers of this book you can also find people who were not scientists in the strict sense, but whose inventions found great application in everyday life, such as Slavoljub Penkala, David Schwarz or Ferdinand Kovačević. In addition to the greats of world science, such as Ruđer Bošković or Nikola Tesla, the book also includes many scientists who, through their work and scientific work, were the founders of certain scientific branches or disciplines in Croatia, and most often in this part of Europe. Readers will find a lot of interesting information within the covers of this book that will either provide them with new knowledge or expand their previous knowledge about the people who changed Croatian and world science, so we can rightly call them the greats of Croatian science.
