Ponoćne uspomene

Ponoćne uspomene

Sidney Sheldon

In Midnight Memories, actress Catherine Douglas wakes up in a hospital with no memories and faces a murder charge. Trying to uncover the truth about her past, she enters a world of deceit, intrigue, and passion.

Midnight Memories is the sequel to Sheldon's famous thriller The Other Side of Midnight. The story begins when Catherine Douglas, having survived an assassination attempt, wakes up in an Athens hospital with no memory of the crime and the people from her past. As she tries to reconstruct who she is and what happened to her, she discovers that she is entangled in a web of revenge, jealousy and betrayal.

On the other side of the world, the powerful and vengeful Greek industrialist Constantin Demiris - once her protector - realizes that Catherine is not dead. He launches a new, cruel game to cover up his crimes and eliminate witnesses who could threaten his reputation.

Sheldon masterfully combines elements of thriller, melodrama and psychological drama: the fight for survival turns into a search for identity and truth. The characters are driven by passion, greed and fear, in a world of luxury and danger where power and money are deadly weapons.

The novel is dynamic, full of twists and turns and suspense, with Sheldon's signature - a strong female protagonist who goes from victim to fighter. Midnight Memories brings a blend of romance, mystery and revenge, and at its core remains the eternal theme: how far a man will go to survive and take revenge.
