Bojana Meandžija

Bojana Meandžija schrieb ihren autobiografischen Roman mit dem Titel "Run! Don't Wait for Me..." im Alter von sechzehn Jahren in den feuchten Räumen eines Atombunkers während des Kroatienkrieges.

Sie schrieb die ersten Sätze des Romans in den frühen Morgenstunden auf die Holzlatten des Holzschuppens, während die Stille nur vom Detonieren von Granaten zerrissen wurde. Die Inschriften auf den Latten sind trotz der vergangenen Zeit noch heute zu sehen. Es ist die Geschichte eines jungen Menschen, der unter Bedingungen aufwächst, in denen jeder Augenblick des Lebens besonders kostbar ist. Doch umgeben von der Fürsorge und Liebe ihrer Eltern und der ganzen Familie erkennt das Mädchen, dass es in dieser oft grausamen Welt immer Menschen gibt, die in der größten Not helfen.
