Ivane:

Tino Kujundžić

Tino Kujundžić is the author of self-irony, distancing and observation, a silent search for truth in which every word matters, and he has no intention of wasting them.

Tino Kujundžić is a poet of "sparse" expression, but this expression carries a rich and complex charge of symbolism that, when it begins to unfold through readings, liberates the world and life and bears witness to it from sunrise to sunset. Ivane: is a collection about distant Dalmatia described through its familiar motifs but from a distance; what is, and perhaps who is Split, that mythical city, and what does it expect from the protagonist, what does it say to him and does it ever sleep completely, and why does distance always have to happen in order to establish closeness, as in the song San Diego Serenade by Tom Waits? Whose breathing does one listen to in a self-imposed departure in order to arrive at context and self-knowledge? Ivane: is therefore also a collection of reflections on words, relationships, oneself, the feeling of loneliness and possibly inevitable defeat, but at the same time it is neither tragic nor seeks self-pity.
