Isus – čovjek koji živi

Malcolm Muggeridge

A spiritual classic of the 20th century, one of the most famous and influential contemporary biographies of Jesus Christ, written by British convert, journalist, satirist, and television star Malcolm Muggeridge.

Muggeridge, who for most of his life was an agnostic and cynical observer of the modern world, wrote this book as a deeply personal testimony after his personal conversion. It is not a classic scholarly biography, but a passionate, literary and meditative reconstruction of Jesus' life, teachings, miracles, passion and resurrection.

The author presents Jesus as a living, dynamic and unique person - "a man who lives" - who radically challenges the modern world. The style is rich, sharp and full of journalistic lucidity, at the same time deeply pious and polemical towards secular society. Muggeridge does not present Jesus as a myth or an ethical teacher, but as the incarnate God who brings salvation.

The book was written after his famous meeting with Mother Teresa and represents the culmination of his spiritual journey. In Croatia and the former Yugoslavia, it became popular among Christians as a fresh, modern and convincing portrayal of the person of Jesus. Today it is considered a modern spiritual classic that attracts both believers and those seeking meaning.
