St. Josemaría Escrivá took as the basis of this book the interior journey of progressive conformity to Christ. The forge thus accompanies the soul on its path of sanctification, from the reception of the light of the Christian vocation to the opening of earthly life towards eternity. In doing so, the author does not offer a rigid template for interior life, but – with deep respect for the interior freedom of each person – invites each soul to follow its own path, according to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
