Ray Of Light

Ray Of Light

Madonna

Madonna's seventh studio album from 1998. The CD brings a visionary blend of electronica, ambient and pop with anthology hits like "Frozen", "Ray of Light" and "The Power of Good-Bye".

Released in March 1998 by Maverick and Warner Bros. Records, Ray of Light is Madonna's seventh studio album and one of the most critically acclaimed and influential of her career. Strongly influenced by Eastern mysticism, Kabbalah, yoga, and the experience of motherhood, the album marked a complete sonic and visual reinvention for the Queen of Pop, ushering in her most mature creative phase.

In collaboration with British electronic producer William Orbit, Madonna created a masterpiece that masterfully combined classic pop structures with elements of techno, ambient, trip-hop, and drum and bass music. The CD includes a series of anthological singles, led by the mystical and dark ballad "Frozen", the soaring title track "Ray of Light", and emotional hits such as "The Power of Good-Bye", "Nothing Really Matters", and "Drowned World / Substitute for Love". The album also stands out for its extremely advanced, technically perfected vocal performances.

Awarded four Grammy Awards and selling over 16 million copies, Ray Of Light is remembered as the crown jewel of late-nineties pop production and a must-have CD for any serious collector.
