Scream / Childhood

Scream / Childhood

Michael Jackson, Jenet Jackson

Michael Jackson's 1995 European CD single release (Epic). Featuring the double hit "Scream" duet with Janet Jackson and "Childhood", the title song from the movie Free Willy 2, in a slim case.

Released in May 1995 under the auspices of Epic Records (catalog number EPC 662022 1), this European CD single edition features a powerful double A-side single from the double album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. The mainstay of the release is the futuristic, energetic R&B/funk-rock hit "Scream", an explosive duet between Michael Jackson and his sister Janet Jackson, which also marked their first official musical collaboration and became one of the most memorable musical moments of the 1990s.

The second side of the release is the emotional, orchestral ballad "Childhood", an extremely personal song in which Michael talks about his upbringing and lost childhood, and which also served as the official title theme for the Hollywood hit film Free Willy 2. The song "Scream" is signed and produced by the cult writing team Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis together with Michael and Janet, which gave the single an extremely modern, aggressive and production-perfect sound.

Packaged in a standard slim J-card case with a recognizable art cover, this European CD edition represents a valuable collector's item and an indispensable part of Michael Jackson's discography.
