Vječna devetnica Gospi od Čudotvorne medaljice

Cecilija Firić

The prayer book for the Perpetual Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal presents the history of the apparitions to St. Catherine Labouré, the devotion to the Miraculous Medal, and prayers and intercessions for daily spiritual life.

The booklet and prayer book "Perpetual Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal" is a valuable spiritual guide intended for all believers and those who hold a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The devotion to the Miraculous Medal dates back to 1830, when Our Lady appeared to a young nun, Catherine Labouré, in Paris. She provided the design for the medal, promising abundant graces to all who would wear it with confidence and seek her intercession. The prayer book contains the text of the Perpetual Novena—a devotion practiced in many parishes and communities on a weekly basis, most commonly on Mondays. It includes opening and closing prayers, the Rosary, litanies, invocations, and specific prayers for families, the sick, conversion, and personal intentions. Special emphasis is placed on the well-known invocation inscribed on the medal itself: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!" In addition to the prayers, the booklet offers a concise historical overview of the apparitions, an explanation of the rich symbolism found on both the front and back of the medal, and numerous testimonies regarding spiritual and physical healings, as well as graces received through Mary’s intercession. This prayer book serves as a simple yet powerful aid for daily prayer, growth in faith, and seeking heavenly protection.
