The author claims that Colonel Bradford, the main character in the book through whom the interesting story of the six rituals is told, is a real person who traveled through Tibet and whom he met in 1930 in Southern California where he wrote the book. This edition of the book contains the lost chapter "Mind Magic and Mantras", which was found in 1994 among the author's personal papers.
