Forging unexplored paths in medical science at a time of great historical and spiritual turmoil in Europe, he won the gratitude and admiration of many who owed him their health, but he was also the victim of various intrigues fueled by the malice of the envious. Numerous legends have interwoven around his character, as well as a never-solved riddle about practicing alchemy...
