Roerich was also a prolific writer, he wrote several books about Tibet, India, Central Asia, China, Mongolia and Siberia. It is probably from Roerich's books that the concept of the mystical Shangri-La became known. There are two museums dedicated to Roerich, one in New York and one in Moscow.
