Diktatura relativizma: zbornik radova znanstvenog simpozija, održanog u Zagrebu 16. lipnja 2007
The volume provides a multidisciplinary insight into the ethical, social, and theological challenges of relativism in contemporary society, analyzing its impact on the family, culture, science, and Christian values.
The collection of essays The Dictatorship of Relativism (Diktatura relativizma), edited by Mijo Nikić and Kata Lamešić (published in 2009 by the Bishop Josip Lang Foundation and the Philosophical-Theological Institute of the Society of Jesus in Zagreb), is dedicated to analyzing one of the most significant phenomena and challenges of the contemporary era. The term "dictatorship of relativism"—popularized in the public sphere by Pope Benedict XVI—is examined in this volume through a multidisciplinary lens, encompassing theology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and pedagogy. The contributors analyze how the neglect of objective truths and universal moral principles affects both the individual and society at large. Particular attention is given to the crisis of identity, ethical dilemmas in bioethics, the role of the media in shaping attitudes, and the consequences of relativism for family stability and the upbringing of young people. Through critically reflective essays, the volume seeks to offer a Christian and humanistic response to the challenges of postmodern pluralism. This work represents a valuable contribution to Croatian theological and philosophical literature, providing readers with a deeper insight into the processes behind the erosion of traditional values and the search for enduring foundations in the modern world.
