Svjedočenje o vremenu

Esad Duraković

"Testimony of Time" by Esad Duraković is a collection of essays that critically reflect on war, post-war transition and social fractures, connecting them with religious, cultural and political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Arab world.

"Testimony of Time" by Esad Duraković presents a broad and multi-layered intellectual insight into an era marked by war, transition and global civilizational tensions. Through essays of various origins and occasions, the author analyzes how individuals and communities change in the face of violence, ideology and social upheaval. The role of the intellectual as a moral witness of the times, one who is obliged to recognize the hidden mechanisms of power, identity manipulation and abuse of religion, is particularly emphasized.

Duraković connects the local experiences of Bosnia and Herzegovina with those of the Arab-Islamic world, emphasizing the universality of crises and ruptures that transcend geographical boundaries. He writes analytically and personally at the same time, combining philological precision, humanistic concern and critical distance. His texts function as a testimony of events, but also as an attempt to understand the deeper causes of social disorders.

The book can be read as an intellectual map of time — a document of the epoch, but also a call for responsibility, reflection, and resistance to the social and moral deviations that shape the contemporary world.
